    Unanswered: does anything in oracle similar to "set integrity" and "detailed indexes" in DB2

    Hi All,

    New to Oracle, have been using DB2 all along. In DB2, after I load tons of data to tables, I need to set integrity and indexing. Wonder what should I do in Oracle? Anything equalivant to the following SQL?

    set integrity for <schema>.<tablename> immediate checked;
    runstats on table <schema>.<tablename> and detailed indexes all;

    Many thanks, all experts!

    "I need to set integrity" - I have no idea what you mean with that!

    runstats sounds like this maps to dbms_stats.gather_schema_stats()

    You'll have to explain what those commands do in DB2...

    set integrity looks like constraints... alter constraint enable [novalidate] etc.

    alter constraint xxx deferred|immediate etc

    Please don't email me directly with questions. I've probably just got home from the pub and cannot guarantee the sanity of my answers. In fact, I can't believe I actually made it home.
