Unanswered: Cooperation of MySQL database with Oracle and others

    Hello,

I use CMS like Joomla and PHPBB with MySQL database.

Is it possible to integrate data, send some data between two databases, cooperate with database others then MySQL(f.e. Microsoft or Oracle)?

How would we run application using webservice if databases would be different?
    Would it be a problem?

I'm totally "Newbie" in databases and programming, so will be gratefull for any help and sharing knowledge in this topic...

    Regards,
    damo

Your question is quite generic, hence it's not possible to provide an exact answer.

At the high level, yes, it is possible to integrate data from different types of databases. As far as web services are concerned, the company offering web services will need to modify the original code in some way to get data from different databases. The end users should not be impacted.
