Unanswered: Newbie ?? - New help with inventory DB

Hello, I am trying to find a way that I can have Access or Excell qurey a list of data - like this:

I might have item# MSS-101344 and that's it so now I'm having to go to a list and look up what that item number is so I know it's Chocolate Whey Protein - I would like to have something that would read MSS-101344 and then check a inventory list of my items to show me that it's the Whey Chocolate Protein - is there anything like that in Excell or Access??

    Thank you!

All I can come up with is "yes". I don't have time to spell out exactly how to do this in either.

In short, use a Relationship between tables in Access or use VLOOKUP() function between Excel tables.

That's what I needed to know... I have books on both but just couldn't find a firm YES or NO on that sort of stuff, so now that I know it's possible I can find out how to do it! Thanks again for your help!
