    Unanswered: unable to connect to oracle

    I have installed oracle 10g(relese 2) in vista .Global database name was "ranjan" and password "oracle" and SID is "ranjan".But when tring to login through isql ,I am unable to login to oracle.Shall I use host string as "ranjan".

    isql is a SQL Server/Sybase utility. You need to use SQLPlus, which is an Oracle utility.

    my car has a problem. It won't go.
    Please tell me how to fix it.

    An actual error code at a minimum would be helpful.
