    Red face Unanswered: Error 429

Hi All - I have the same problem as this post:
    http://www.dbforums.com/showthread.php?t=534266

Hey All - I have a database that is being used on several computers. All computers run XP. The database opens and a switch board comes up. This works on all but one computer which will not open the switchboard.

When I open the database I get the error:
    Run-time error '429':
    ActiveX component can't create object.

When I run the debugger the line that is highlight is:
    Set con = Application.CurrentProject.Connection

    So far I have tried:
Installing access 2007 - same problem

Installing XP service pack 3 - no difference

Installing MDAC -install file would not run because "all of its features are currently part of windows"

Installing JET 4.0 - also would not run because it was already installed.

Installing DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer - still not change.

I have very little experience with developing databases.

Can anyone help my fix my problem?

    Thanks! Amelia

Have you considered not using the switchboard manager?

I never use it, instead I create my own menus. Is that an option for you?

I don't like the switchboard manager either. First thing I think of when something works on some computers and not others is reference issues:
