    Unanswered: 8.33 post-install questions

Is there a procedure and/or a downloadable database I can use to confirm PostgreSQL is installed correctly before I start using my real data? does not address where the database is physically stored. How do I set the path where a database will be so it will be on a partition with enough space?

    Actually, it does.

You first define where database objects are stored by defining one or more tablespaces, then referencing that tablespace when you create the database.

A tablespace can be thought of a as a logical name for a drive/path
