    Unanswered: Notification of record update

Is there any system field in Oracle table, which can allow the program to know the record is updated?

    Background:
I got a large table in Oracle and I need to synchronize the table to MySql at day end for reporting. I want to shorten the time, so I just want to copy the updated records only instead of copying the whole table. Please advise.

Only if your include such a field in the table & updates this field during EVERY UPDATE of that table.

By the way, this proves problematic for deleted records.

The way I would do it is to have a trigger on my oracle table that would put the primary key and a flag (D,U,I) into a tracking table. Your update program would process using the tracking table to maintain your mysql table.
