    Unanswered: changing system password

    Hi All,
    i am using db2 ESE v8.1 on windows.
    when i changed my system password, it throws the following error while creating a new database:
    SQL1032N No start database manager command was issued.
    SQLSTATE=57019

    However resetting it to the original one solves the problem but what if ever a need arises to change the system password( for example, the password becomes known to someone we dont intend to). in such a situation we need to change the password, so how to deal with this error then

    well what i can understand from your post is that after changing the passowrd you are not able to do anything ?
    your post suggests db2 service is not started.
    try starting it by db2start or from service panel.
    check what db2diag entries suggests ....
