Hi guys, I'm a newbie to Sybase - always worked with Oracle or SQL Server.
I don't have the description of the tables I need to work with. So just I need something like the "desc" command in Oracle - to see the column names, types, etc for a specific table.
I believe I may need to run a query with the object_id funtion against the sys tables, but I cannot seem to get it to work.
Could you please help me out? Thanks in advance!
SELECT t.name AS table_name, c.name as column_name, dt.name as type_name, c.length, c.prec, c.scale
FROM sysobjects t, syscolumns c, systypes dt
WHERE t.type = 'U'
AND t.id = c.id
AND c.type = dt.type
AND t.name = YourTableName
