Unanswered: I cannot calculate the Total on Report Footer

    Dear Friends,
I have a very mistry problem with one of of the reports. I have spent 4 hours on this and just could not find a solution for it. In the report I have the following

    Report Header
    EmployeeID Header
    Details
    EmployeeID Footer
    Report Footer

Under EmployeeID Footer section I have calculated eah employe's invoices i.e. Sub Total, VAT (tax) and Total and it all works fine for each employee. However, I want to calculate (sum) all employees invoices, vat (tax) and then the grand total. Unfortunatley, for some strange reason It does not calculate the whole total and in contrary it gives a wrong calculation that does not match with any of the employee's total or part of their invoices.

By the way, this is the code I have used for individual calculations under EmployeeID Footer
    =Sum([InvoiceAmountLessVAT])
and I have used the same code
    =Sum([InvoiceAmountLessVAT])
    under the Report Footer.

Any help and advice would be much appreciated.

    Hi again Emal,

I just replied to what seems the same question you added to another post. In your ReportFooter, check your Properties box and then look at the DataTab and look to see if you selected on the RunningSum section to OVER ALL. That should be all that's needed to make it work. That's what I have for mine.

    have a nice one,
    BUD

    Hi Bud,
Thanks for the response. I have checked the dataTab and the RunningSum section is set to OVERALL and it is still the same problem. Believe it or not, I spent more than 6 hours on this until now and yet couldnt find the reason.

    Budy--- Hi Emal,

Do you have several totals for several groups that you need the Grand Totals for? I mean like in mine, there are many different Jobs and I have reports that list many jobs of my choosing, and each job has it totals at the bottom and then at the very end there is a sum of ALL of those totals. Sounds like what you're talking about?
Just so you know, I use my JobID field and created a Footer for it. That footer creates a Sum for each Job that results in my search. It's called the JobID footer. Then the Grand Totals are placed in the ReportFooter which comes at the end of the report.
Can you take it from there and get it going? If not let me know and I'll try to get if for you.
Yes Bud, you are exactly right, i have totals for each group and I want to get the grand total of all those groups at the bottom of the page i.e. report footer. But it is not working, I have tried so manythings.

Hi Bud, Thank you for your help.
Actually it was working before as well. for some strange reason I had a different figure in mind and my mind was stuck on that. When I tried to see what total it was giving me, it was correct and it was working from the very beginning. Thanks.

TBH, you should calculate the InvoiceAmountLessVAT in the query, then you won't even need to use RunningSum... and those expressions will work as they should for each area you put them.
