    Hi all,

When I conversion from t24(it is my core database) to Oracle database it need around 400GB free size hard disk. on oracle I create one tablespace and one datafile(Unlimited) now it size became 321GB.

Now I need to ask you about number of datafile I should be created and How many tablespace I also created?

and other question is :If my want to spite my datafile(321GB) to small datafile(50), so what can I do?

    Thank

upon how many disks will Oracle data & temp files reside?
You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.

With only 1 logical volume, then the number of files & tablespaces is not relevant.
The I/O performance will be unchanged regardless of number of files or tablespaces.

Your question is like ask which is better to cut a pizza into 4 or 8 slices?
The number of slices does not change the total amount of pizza.

    >Can I base on what?
Base your choice on the results of your own benchmark test run which shows the configuration which provides the greatest number of Input/Output operations per second.
