Unanswered: Copying data from a DB to another (different versions)

    Hello,

Here is my problem. I want to "move" data from a version 8.1.8.762 (8.2) on Windows to a version 8.1.3.128 (8.2) on Linux.

I've been told that I can't take a backup and restore it on the Linux server. The volume I need to transfer is not too big, so I could do it with some kind of export into INSERT statements.

I already tried it with a tird party tool, but on big records, the generated INSERT statement is messed up and won't compile. Murphy's law being always there to help us, I have the problem with the biggest table, so I can't really go through the statements manually.

The question is, is there a DB2 tool that can help me with that or if there is a kind of simple way to do that.

    Thanks a lot.

    JFS.

The utility is called db2move and is documented in the Command Reference manual.
