Unanswered: Extracting data from Oracle 8i

    Hi all,

I'm attempting to extract data from a number of tables in an Oracle 8i database. I need the output files to be pipe separated, without leading or trailing rubbish, ready to load into a SQL Server database. I know I can do this using SQL in TOAD or SQLPLUS but I wondered if these days there is some cool tool I could use. I googled it but could only find tools I would have to buy - I'm looking either for something built in to Oracle or a freebie I can mess with. I would be grateful of any recommendations.

    Thanks folks!

    Paula.

    Talking SQL Developer

    Hi Paula,

You can download and use Oracle SQL Developer which is free!

It will export the data as "INSERT" statements.
