    Unanswered: Performance big tablespace

    Dear all,

Can anybody explain me the performance between create bigtablespace and not bigtablespace?

Because I was test one database has one bigtablespace (one datafile) and other database create not bigtablespace and have 15 datafiles.

When I do conversion, I see that database has 15 datafiles it need 1:40H but database has only one bigtablespace need 3H for complete conversion.

So can you explain me , why database has more datafile it faster than database has bigtablespace(one datafile)?

There are a lot of various things that can make a difference. Are both tablespaces on the same type hardware, the same tables, the same statistics. Same version of the database. The same application code.
