    Unanswered: Database Size

    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could advise me about database sizes. So far the databases I have created have been relatively small, however I am now looking to create a fairly large database that will continue to grow. This database will incorporate data for different projects that follow the same data model.

I am not sure whether I should now create multiple databases? Performance is a big issue for my client, they will be looking to carry out complex queries spanning multiple view tables. My concern with creating multiple databases is the future maintenance and extendibility of the solution, hence I would rather not be duplicating the data model.

Also, can anyone provide me with an idea of what is classified as a small and large database?

    Thanks in advance!

you do not need to create multiple databases

    small: thousands of rows
    medium: millions of rows
    large: billions of rows
