    I have table m_dbspaces_test (size 10 GB):

    dtimestamp char(12) not null ,
    serwer char(10) not null ,
    instancja char(10) not null ,
    dbspace char(20) not null ,
    pg_size integer not null ,
    pg_used integer not null ,
    pg_free integer not null ,
    percent char(10) not null

    I need calculate what size will be have new index:

    create index i1_m_dbspaces_test on m_dbspaces_test
    (dtimestamp,serwer,instancja,dbspace,pg_size,pg_us ed,pg_free,percent) using btree;;

    create index i2_m_dbspaces_test on m_dbspaces_test
    (serwer,instancja) using btree;

    this a little annoying to do because you need to calc the branch , the leaf , if have rowid, accepts duplcates, ....

    Take look on the manual , on the Performance Guide search for "Estimating Conventional lndex Pages"
