Unanswered: Unable to connect from developer forms 6i to database 9i.

    help please..

i'm not able to connect from forms develpoer to the database. i've installed first the oracle database 9i, then the developer 6i. I've already copy the tnsnames.ora from the database home to the developer, but still doesn't work.

hope you can help me cos i need to start my project now, and finish it sooner... thanks...

"Being unable to connect" may - in real life - have different manifestations. Exact Oracle error message (and code) might help solving your problem.

Which operating system do you use? Is it certified with Forms 6i? If so, did you install the latest patch available for Forms 6i?

Yes, if you have access to Metalink; otherwise, no. Unlike Oracle Technology Network, Metalink membership is not free.

I have read in some forum that oracle 6i forms developer is not certified to work in Windows XP SP3. Is this true?

Whether certain operating system is certified with a certain Oracle product can be found at Oracle's Certification Matrices pages.
