Unanswered: Creating Scheduled Backup by Complete and Differential
Our MSSQL Server was supposedly creating weekly full backup and a daily differential backup. But for some reason it stop and I don't have any idea why and how since I didn't even knew about it.
I'm currently researching for how to create a full and differential backup but I'm confuse with all the articles I've read so far in the net.
Could somebody please give me a basic idea on this...
Ok, I'll add up another info... the way it backups is like this -- it will create a daily differential backup. It will create a folder (the name of the folder is the date of the backup with a 'DIFF' e.g. c:\20081028_DIFF\database.bak) and under it, it will backup only those database that was change so far. The full backup is the same, though it will execute weekly and the folder name should be like this e.g. c:\20081028_FULL\ and it will do a complete backup.
So what do you think?

Have you read http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms186865.aspx in it's entirety? If one brings so much courage to this world the world has to kill them or break them, so of course it kills them. The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry. Earnest Hemingway, A Farewell To Arms.
