    Unanswered: About RuNsTaTz

    Hi, folks

I'm currently exploring LUW's and OS/390's DB2's RUNSTATS. I know that the this function will gather the statistics needed by the optimizer, but the question is, which table will consist the statistics ?

And, could I display a list of the statistics gathered by the RUNSTATS ??

Oh yeah, if I'm not mistaken, there a report generator function at OS/390's DB2's RUNSTATS which will output in SYSPRINT, but, since I don't have that OS, I can't analyze the content myself T_T

If anyone have any information concerning this matter, I'll be very grateful...

For LUW, look at the views in sysstat schema.

I do not know about Z/OS.

The statistics are in various tables in the DB2 catalog (SYSIBM.SYS....). These tables are documented in the Appendix of the SQL Reference manual.

Some of the statistics are updateable with regular SQL.

    Hi,

The statistics are collected into SYSIBM.SYSTABLES, SYSIBM.SYSCOLUMNS, SYSIBM.SYSCOLDIST catalog tables

You can query these tables with normal SQL statements and get the statistics info from these tables.

You can check for statistics columns of these tables in DB2 information center.

For DB2 LUW, you have to use the tables in the SYSSTAT schema instead.
