    Straight from the documentation:

    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infoce.../r0022765.html

    DB2® audit log ("db2audit.log")

    * Operating system: All
    * Default location:
    o Windows®: Located in the $DB2PATH\instance_name\security directory
    o Linux® and UNIX®: Located in the $HOME\sqllib\security directory, where $HOME is the instance owner's home directory
    * Created when the db2audit facility is started.
    * Contains audit records generated by the DB2 audit facility for a series of predefined database events.

    Thanks Andy,

    But I did not find it even after starting db2audit.

    Probably some other reason.

    Thanks anyway,

    Two questions.

    1) How are you running the audit facility?
    2) what is the contents of the directory where the log file is supposed to be?

    db2audit configure scope context status both errortype normal

    db2audit start

    D:\DB2\SQLLIB\BIN>db2audit describe
    DB2 AUDIT SETTINGS:

    Audit active: "TRUE "
    Log audit events: "FAILURE"
    Log checking events: "FAILURE"
    Log object maintenance events: "FAILURE"
    Log security maintenance events: "FAILURE"
    Log system administrator events: "FAILURE"
    Log validate events: "FAILURE"
    Log context events: "BOTH"
    Return SQLCA on audit error: "FALSE "
    Audit Data Path: ""
    Audit Archive Path: ""

    AUD0000I Operation succeeded.

    =======================
    Contents:
    Installation : D:\DB2\SQLIB

    I expect db2audit.log in D:\DB2\SQLLIB\DB2\

    But there is no DB2 directory.

    And I searched whole SQLIB for log file

    Try here: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IBM\DB2\DB2express\DB2_01\security

    The manual may not be completely accurate.
