Unanswered: Need help in adding Data to database

    Hello sir,
I want to add some datas to the database.
I created database with fields type as number.

But when i enter this value 16/2, the value doesn't adding to database and displaying "Type Missmatch" error.

Wat i want is actually is after specifying field type as "number" while designing database.

I wanted like this number to added.

Eg: 16/2 must be added and then it must change the value to 8 (16/2 = 8).(ie) want to divide the value and then add it.

    Thank you sir.

Yeah - it is a number column not an expression column.

Now - I'm sure the answer will be "well....no" but I'm more interested in the reason why you can't do this:
    Why not just enter 8?

    ...

Like pootleflump said "16/2" is not a number, it is an expression and you can't pass that into a number field.
You know, I'm sick of following my dreams, man. I'm just going to ask where they're going and hook up with 'em later
