Hi, I recently downloaded a utility named 'Users' passwords viewer' that has the ability to scan the mdw file and show all the user names and passwords within it immediately. So I found that my 'secure' database was not secure at all, the passwords were long enough but the program managed to extract them the same time I clicked on the file.
I thought that in such occasions the password must be encrypted in some way in the file, so if somebody wants to find it, he has to try brute force attack, dictionary attack etc, like with the .rar, .zip or any other file that is password protected. I have heard that access is not particularly secure and has it's weaknesses, but this is like there is no protection at all. Even for excel and word files you need some time to break the password using similar programs.
Why microsoft didn't implement such a protection?
Thank you in advance.
