    Unanswered: Vista + MDAC (ADODB.Recordset) = -2147024769 (8007007f) Automation Error

    Hello everybody,

I've got a program that runs wonderful under Windows XP but it won't work under Windows Vista.

I've been searching for a solution for 3 days now, but nothings helps...

The VB6 program throws an error when executing the following command:

    Code:
    Set myVar = New ADODB.Recordset
After a while I started a fresh, clean project to eliminate all error sources.
In this project I played with an ADODC-Control. Again it runs under XP and throws an error under Vista when executing

    Code:
    Adodc1.Refresh
I've played around with several MDAC-Versions and the Component Checker (cc.exe) - nothing helped...

I've found the solution: The problem was caused by the setup process of the application. Various MDAC-/ADO-dll's were shipped with the installation process, we just had to rebuild the setup without these dll's.

Nevertheless: Thank you for reading & trying to help, you couldn't know this...
