Unanswered: Restore hot backup on different machine

Hi, I'm still having troubles with restoring my hot backup I got from a customer. I keep on getting:

    ORA-01034: ORACLE not available

Which I don't understand. Oracle's services are running prefectly fine if I check with sqlplus. I think I might do something wrong here.

I'm running on windows, ora 8.1.7

    The steps I did are:

I created a recovery catalog using some statements and RMAN.

    Then,

Oradim -new -sid MyDB -startmode auto -pfile D:\oracle\ora81\database\initMyDB.ora

    SET ORACLE_SID=MyDB
    sqlplus /nolog
    connect sys/mypw as sysdba
    STARTUP NOMOUNT

SQL> CREATE CONTROLFILE SET DATABASE "MYDB" RESETLOGS NOARCHIVELOG
    2 MAXLOGFILES 32
    3 MAXLOGMEMBERS 2
    4 MAXDATAFILES 254
    5 MAXINSTANCES 1
    6 MAXLOGHISTORY 1809
    7 LOGFILE
    8 GROUP 1 'D:\ORADATA\MYDB\LOGNZLM1.ORA' SIZE 1M,
    9 GROUP 2 'D:\ORADATA\MYDB\LOGNZLM2.ORA' SIZE 1M
    10 DATAFILE
    11 'D:\ORADATA\MYDB\SYS1NZLM.ORA',
    12 'D:\ORADATA\MYDB\SYS2NZLM.DBF',
    13 'D:\ORADATA\MYDB\RBS1NZLM.ORA',
    14 'D:\ORADATA\MYDB\USR1NZLM.ORA',
    15 'D:\ORADATA\MYDB\TMP1NZLM.ORA',
    16 'D:\ORADATA\MYDB\INDX1NZLM.ORA',
    17 'D:\ORADATA\MYDB\MONDB1NZLM.ORA',
    18 'D:\ORADATA\MYDB\MONDB2NZLM.DBF'
    19 CHARACTER SET WE8ISO8859P1
    20 ;
CREATE CONTROLFILE SET DATABASE "MYDB" RESETLOGS NOARCHIVELOG
    *
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-01034: ORACLE not available

Also if I try to run RECOVER DATABASE I get this error. I already copied the data files and archive log back to oradata\mydb

You may want to verify the contents of your pfile and specify the pfile in your startup nomount command:

    Code:
    startup nomount pfile='D:\oracle\ora81\database\initMyDB.ora'
and also change the NOARCHIVELOG to ARCHIVELOG in the create controlfile script.
