Unanswered: Benchmarking SQL Server 2005 - how do I know if there's a need2do performance tuning?
hi guys, just wondering if anybody has any way to benchmark the performance of a SQL Server 2005, either through scripts or tools. I have a server with some complaints from the users but I suspect it could be a network bandwidth quality issues.....how can I prove that SQL Server 2005 itself has no performance issue?
It's holding a tiny DB that has less than 10GB of transactional data......

you are supposed to benchmark before you have performance problems.
that being said, there are things like...
http://www.codeplex.com/sqldmvstatsIf one brings so much courage to this world the world has to kill them or break them, so of course it kills them. The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry. Earnest Hemingway, A Farewell To Arms.
