You can try an IF statement:

    PHP Code:
     If ChkBox1=True then
       txtBox
    "Message1"

    ElseIF ChkBox2=True then
       txtBox
    "Message2"

    ElseIF ChkBox3=True then
       txtBox
    "Message3"

    EndIF

Id put the If's into a function

I'd call the function when the state of the controls change, and also in the forms on current event

if the states are mutually exclusive then you should use a radio button/option group rather than a series of checkboxes.

checkbox would be valid if more than one option can be selected at one time
I'd rather be riding on the Tiger 800 or the Norton

Depending upon complexity, I would also consider binding the text box to an expression that uses IIF to examine the tickboxes.
