    Unanswered: relationship problem

i have 3 tables, member, loan, category and a linked excel file which holds video details and is named video details.

before i test the relation ship without linking to an excel file and everything was ok, but when i transfered my data to an excel file and imported it the relationship from the category table was not available.

    members table
    ID
    Name
    address
    tel no

    Loan table
    ID
    Video id
    Borrowed date
    returned

    Category table
    Category ID
    Category name

    video details (exel linked)
    video id
    video name
    cerificate
    category id

member id linked to member id
video id linked to video id
category id lined to category id

the problem occurs when i open the category table. there is aplus sign next to each category ID but not video details appear. how can i fis this.

Why on earth are you exporting data to excel and then re-importing it?

What do you mean the relationship is not "available"? Do you delete the table before re-importing it?

I would suggest that the problem is that while in Excel, which has no clue what a relationship means, the data integrity is being lost... perhaps by a data conversion issue in the process of export/import... perhaps by user modifications... so when you try to import it again it is impossible to re-create the relationship?

Why not have the video details table in Access??
