We are currently in the process of implementing SAP using a SQL Server 2005 backend. When we go-live, there would be additional load on our Website server coming from SAP. In one case, we are talking about updating a SQL table (Order Status) with 500K rows. We will also be updating a couple more 'active' Web tables with a significant number of rows during the day. This database server is currently on an active-passive cluster.

On top of this, there will also be index maintenance jobs that would need to be done on these 'active' tables due to the data volume. With all of this going on, customers are still ordering from the website at this time

I would need options that we could use to minimize impact (timeouts) on our Web database server.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
