Question Unanswered: Failed to connect to sql server

    Dear All,

I installed wsus application, but while connecting to database, it got error "Failed to connect to sql server DBSERVER Login failed for user the user is not associated with a trusted sql server connection".

Whreas, I already assign wsus server name on DBSERVER security login by server roles: public, dbcreater, security admin.

    Domain\WSUSSERVER$

    Kindly need your help.

    Thanks,
    NS

First check SQL server authentication mode whether its Windows or mixed mode . use xp_logincofig and if its in mixed mode , try checking whether its a mismatch or orphan id

U r using a SQL id , but ur SQL server auth is Windows , ( SQL level id wont work ,even ur sa will not prove useful) hence create a Os level id and grant permission at SQL level and try using that which must work
