    Unanswered: urgent: online backup failed with SQL0958C

    Hi,

    I'm using db2 EXP-C 9.5 64 bit on linux, when running online backup
    got the following error "SQL0958C The maximum number of open files has been reached. SQLSTATE=57009"

    the db parm MAXFILOP is set to 61440
    the os max open file parm is 752380

    most of the time the db is idle.

    the problem has been solved it was an NFS problem, the backup
    was pouring the file to an nfs with file limit...

    Similar issue on AIX and 64 bit "DB2 v9.5.0.3", "s081210", "U823474", and Fix Pack "3a".

    Can you please post more details on "nfs with file limit"? What was changed to fix the problem?

    The following settings control how many files can be open:

    maxfilop (DB2 - db cfg)
    nofiles (AIX - ulimit -n)
