    Unanswered: Unable to use as col delimter in sql script

    Hi All,
    Can any one help me in fixing this issue. I am trying to use as column delimiter in sql query extracts, but we get ? as delimter in the datafile.
    for example
    select 'abc'||''||'bcd' , ename from emp;
    results vary like at times i get ? invalid identifer.
    Or i get exact result as
    abcbcd

    Thanks in advance.

    IMO, this is an OS/environment issue.
    The files you discuss are OS text files.
    I doubt this is really an Oracle issue, since the DB is not directly involved.

    Does not specify which version, but that is your issue.
    I'm responding from foggy memory, but it could involve NLS_LANG variable or comparable environmental setting.
