Unanswered: SQL Server 2008 silent setup - How to check system requirements

I have the following problem: I am trying to create a silent setup, that a user can install MS Sql2k8 Express from my software. To do this, ich checked out MSDN documentation about command prompt parameters for SQL Server setup here:
How to: Install SQL Server 2008 from the Command Prompt

Okay, that works fine. I created some dialogs to ask the user about things like target directory, instance name,...etc. So far no problem.

Unfortunately SQL2008 requires many more other software than SQL2005. If one of the requierment check fails, the setup stops and writes a logfile about the problem.

    The requierements are listed here:
    Feature Installation Rules

I discovered on certain computers, the most frequently missing requirements are
    - SP1 für Dotnet Runtime 2.0
    - Win Installer 4.5
    - Powershell 1.0 (only needed for SQL with adv. Services)

Okay - so far so good - is there a possiblity to show the user a nice dialog about all components where the requirement check failed? Sure I can parse the logfile... but is there no other way? If I don't use a silent setup I get such nice dialogs ;-) Any ideas ?

    Thanks ;-)

    Hello elinio2000,

But did you found any solution for your problem ?

I'm still having the same dilemma ...
