    Unanswered: SQL Anywhere Error -306: Deadlock detected

    Hi Experts,

    Can anyone describe the effects of this deadlock error thrown.

    The error is thrown while updating db,but i cannot see any loss of data in db,please help me to know more details about it.

    This error means that you are trying to lock a row that another connection has locked, and that you are holding a lock on a row that that same other connection is trying to lock.
    If you get the error, your transaction gets rolled back.
    To track the source of the problem if you do not think it should be occurring, you should use the SQL Anywhere application profiler (available in version 10 and later) to profile the database and server while your application is running. Details on the profiler can be found in the documentation.
