Unanswered: how to create an instance on AIX?

I am trying to create an instance under userid=instance name db2v8s1:
    devdb2[/usr/opt/db2_08_01]db2icrt -a CLIENT -w 64 -s ESE -p 50008 -u db2v8fs1 db2v8s1

    And get the following message:
    ksh: db2icrt: not found.

    Please advise.

what does it mean? manual says in AIX this command is supposed to be run in /usr/opt/db2_08_01 directory, but because db2 is not installed there it does not work. what is the way around it?

Can you search for db2icrt on the machine ... Does it exist? Where is it ? Is the directory in your path ? Is your current directory in your path and you are in that directory ?

I had to switch to root userid and then did:

    /usr/opt/db2_08_01/instance#./db2icrt -w 64 -p 50008 -u db2v8fs1 db2v8s1

And it is taking forewer... How long does it normaly takes?

If I want to have dbm cfg params same as other existing dbms cfg params how do I copy them?
