We are seeking enthusiastic, results focused professionals to join our dynamic Oracle DBA team to design, install, and support Oracle applications and database solutions.
As an Oracle DBA for TerpSys, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintain, integrate, migrate, tune, and Infrastructure design of Oracle 9i, 10g, 9iAS, 10gAS products.
Perform backup and recovery.
Database support for the deployment of major software releases, feature enhancements, and bug fixes.
Represent database team in meetings with other teams to coordinate successful planning and completion of various tasks and projects.
Occasional after-hours and weekend support is required.
Provide all other database administration duties as required.
Successful candidates must possess the following skills and qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related experience is required (preferred in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related area).
2-5 years of database administration experience with Oracle.
Experience with the following Oracle products: 9i/10g RDBMS, 10g Application Server.
Experience with Sun Solaris and Linux.
Experience with shell scripting.
Experience working in a software development environment.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers, team members and managers.
Experience with contingency plan and disaster recovery strategy implementation.
Experience with the following Oracle products: 10g Oracle Application Server Portal, Oracle 10g Data Guard.
Experience with the following Open Source RDBMS: MySQL 5, Postgres 8.
Experience with Veritas Volume Manager, Cluster and Netbackup.
Professional certification: Oracle Database Administrator 9i/10g.
