    Unanswered: Installing oracle 10 g on redhat server5

    Hi,

    I have installed oracle 10g on redhat server 5 on user named 'oracle',I want to use this database from user 'crayom' user.
    what setting should I need to change.
    Please guide.

    i did not properly understood what you try to mean by 'use'

    if mean connect your application/ or database tool you can do this with user
    'crayom' .

    if you mean run sqlplus and other oracle process and services you need give permission 'crayom' to run those process and services.

    On UNIX and Linux, the Oracle 10g software is secured during the installation process, and only the owner and group (i.e., oracle and oinstall) can use it. You can open the permissions by running changePerm.sh. This file is in the $ORACLE_HOME directory.
