    Unanswered: DB2-Performance Tuning

    Hi,

    Please suggest what are all the things can be considered for reducing the CPU time and ELAPS time for a DB2 query in Mainframe Application programming.

    I guess you have read through the usual performance tuning suggestions in the manual and elsewhere?

    well you can look at the explain, the bufferpools, the sort pools, EDM pool, RID pool, locksize, lockrule, isolation level, index structures tablespace partitioning, you want to get even deeper, you can start looking at dasd I/O controllers, disks, etc............... the list goes on and on. I would suggest hiring staff that knows how to use an RDBMS and write SQL as that is the best way of saving on costs.
