Unanswered: Append Query and two tables

Hey db_people, I'm new to this so sorry if it sounds easy, or if i'm a little confusing with my explaination.

I have a situation where we quote projects for clients, then the client place the order at a later date and I want to load the quote into an order.

My quote_form stores the info in the quotes table and there is a quotes_subform that stores the material and costs in the quotes_subform table. I would like to transfer the information from the quotes_form and quotes_subform to our order_form and order_subform when the clients wants to place the order.

I currently have an append query that takes the information from the quote form and loads it into the order_form as a new order (stored in the orders table).

I also have an append query that gets the info from the quote_subform, but I cannot get it to load into the order_subform on the new order_form I just created with the first append query (quotes_form to orders_form).

Like i said soory if this is confusing and thank anyone for anyhelp. My head is a little sore from this problem and it's getting worse.

you posted the same question in the SQL Server forum twice (i've removed the other one)

are you sure you're using SQL Server and not MS Access?

I cannot get it to load into the order_subform on the new order_form I just created with the first append query
Why? What happens when you run that query?
