    Unanswered: Union Join & Counting

    Hello There!

I have a tricky question (well tricky for me that I would like some help on if possible). I would like to obtain two different quiries from the same table but I cannot seem to make this happen. I tried out using union which ideally looked great but I need to perform a count in the second statement. Is it possible to perform a count in the second statement when one does not exist in the first statement?

    Any ideas would be great!

    Thanks

    Lucy

If you're using Union (or any of the other set operators), then all the queries have to return the same set of columns.
Other than that, the queries can be anything you like - they're all executed independently, and then the Set operator operated on the result set that the queries return
