Unanswered: Problem with "Mailto:" showing on email address in report

HI there... can't seem to figure out how just to show the email address... not the "Mailto:" as well... the field is a hyperlink, but i just want the email address to display on a report... not all the extra code... very strange...

You'll need to supply more info.

Otherwise, store the email address into a variable and manipulate that variable and then show it on the report or utilize an expression such as Left/Instr/Len to trim the data in the field for the controlsource of that field.

If the e-mail address always has mailto: you could return the len-7 right characters:

    =Right(EmailAddress,Len(EmailAddress)-7)

    That kind of thing.

hmmmm... ok in the table, its type is hyperlink. I want the user to be able to click on an email address in the forms and start emailing. However, when i go to create a billing statement using a report... i JUST want the email address to appear...don't need it to link. I am not sure i am following what you are suggesting... maybe my brain is just fried.
    thanks

In your report, if all the e-mail addresses start with mailto: then you could modify the report control so that instead of showing you the [EmailAddress] it has =Right([EmailAddress],Len([EmailAddress])-7) as the Control Source.... which will remove the first 7 characters... follow?
