Unanswered: ora-1659: Unable to allocate MINEXTENTS beyond 9 in tablespace

    Hi ,

I am trying to import data from exp file. but i am getting ora-1659: Unable to allocate MINEXTENTS beyond 9 in tablespace QMS2(my tablespace name).

I tried to extend the space of the table by adding datafile but it didn't help. I found out that this might be because of coelscing (space fragmentation). I dropped all the object in my tablespace and tried to import again, but I am still getting the same error. Could someone guide me as how to overcome the coelscing problem.

After you dropped all of the objects in the tablespace, did you run the 'alter tablespace coalesce' command?

Also, what size extents and how many are being created for the table being imported?

Finally, as with all posts, please include the oracle version (to 4 levels), OS version and any additional information to help clarify your problem.
