    Unanswered: Encryption vs database vault

    Hello,

We are running Oracle 11g on linux.

I have a question with transparent database encryption.

My understanding is, TDE will encrypt data before it is written to disk, therefore securing it from 'disk readers'.

The next part of the question is: Auditing, would like to secure some columns of data from the DBAs. SO they cannot select, or update it.
I do not think TDE will do that, will it?

This function to me looks like it requires database vault?

    Any info would be great.
    Thanks,
    Ron
