    Unanswered: backups froze

    Hi guys has anyone ever gotten this message in thier application event viewer

    I'm not sure as to what happened to cause that. the backups are going again but I'm curious as to what would cause this? Anyone ever seen this before?

    I found this:

    SQL Server Magazine - I/O is frozen on database. No user action is required.

    It suggests:
    "This is an I/O freeze call by the backup VDI interface. Your backup/SAN/NAS vendor is making a call to the VDI interface to 'freeze' the I/O on the system in order to take a snapshot of the disk."

    Please be sure to post the resolution as I am interested to see what it is.
