    Red face Unanswered: Ms Access has encountered a problem and needs to close

    I'm running XP Pro with ms access 2007.
    I consistantly receiving the error mentioned above.
    I have downloaded all ms updates.
    Thinking my database was corrupted I selected compact on close and closed and re-opened it. - to no avail.
    I created a blank database and imported all everything. - to no avail.
    I have created a new database with no objects other than one table having three records, when I copy the table I receive the same error.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Click-ON Send it to Microsoft
    and than you can Click on 'details' where you can see
    what module name causes the error like (VB6.DLL, MSACCESS.EXE,Unknown module name, etc.)
    Do you have an large database ?
    I have similar Daily problems with Access 2003, this year ~100 Crashes reported to Microsoft...., and nothing happens.

    I would like to Known who in Microsoft analyze this Errors/Crashes, because i would like to participate , but with someone from microsoft...

    Try conversion MDB-TXT-MDB, but some special features may be LOST !!!
    Compile on Demand is ON/OFF ?
    Try Detect and repair on Help Menu with restore defaults...

    you can also Click-ON, compact and repair on this
    Window-Error Reporting to microsoft
    sometimes , when i repair it Second, third, forth -times than it is repaired,
    ************************************************** *****
    but sometimes allways crashes ( could NOT be repaired,.... in that case an TO-DO-WORK for microsoft, contact microsoft)
    i am not shure about this SPAM scanners like SCAN32.EXE, MSMPENG.EXE, ...
    (they works very strong on disk/CPU)
    I do not have any problems before about 1 year, and now dailly...

    Is there any VBA code running when Access crashes? YES
    they are two crashes:
    1.Startup Crashes
    -i am using autoexec
    but because sometimes StartupForm crashes, i can switch ON Debug-Mode,
    OUTSIDE Access, and than before Main Form is opened Simple/About Form, where i can STOP code/Crash.
    It is recommended on Startup NOT starts Large Forms....
    2.Run/Other crashes
    -here is a problem , because allways ANOTHER code-place crashes, but some code place are under higher suspection

    try it yourself...

    I'm not sure it's the source of the problem but there is a flaw in your Error Handler:

    xPAC_DTF.MOD_ZZ0_REF.ERROR_SHOW ---> calls
    xPAC_DTF.MOD_ZZ0_REF.ERROR_SAVE ---> calls
    xPAC_DTF.MOD_ZZ1_CM1.FF_TEXTAPPEND ---> calls
    xPAC_DTF.MOD_ZZ0_REF.ERROR_SHOW ---> calls ... etc.
    and that causes a Stack Overflow.

    More generally, I suspect that your program creates too many threads and Access is not very good at handling multi-threading.

    Try to open the query CrashAndBurn of the attached database and you'll see how easy it is to crash Access for this kind of reason.

    Have a nice day!

    Welcome to the forums AndreSA, sorry for your thread being hijacked.

    I'd recommend starting with Allen Brown's Tips for Recovering from Corruption, let us know how you get on from there or if that doesn't work for you.
