    Unanswered: Client safety options

    What does this mean?

"Client safety options do not allow through statements to be issued to the data source"

Running an OLAP cube to Excel (2002) from SQL (2005)

Have successfully built cubes before, the difference this time was the option to rebuild the cube everytime it is opened.

Was led to this forum, only to discover that the thread has been deleted.

A search led to a 404 and a blank screen.

    I figure three options:
    A DBA - in company - restriction
    A Micorsoft default instruction
A standard security statement, ensuring that those who dont know what's going on, to stay dumb (like me)

The only fix was a suggested registry change. There's no ways I'm going there!

The query in SQL query Analyser takes only 2 seconds to successfully run.

    Tx

This is a long shot, but is distributed, ad-hoc querying enabled in the SAC?
