Unanswered: Combobox: Display Text, but store number

I have a table called "tbl_Jobs" where I store the d_ID of the employee assigned to a job. The ID refers to an employee located in the drivers table.

I want to build a form so employees can enter a job and select who to assign that job to by selecting their name in a drop down, as opposed to selecting the employee ID.

i have been reading multiple forums, but can't quite seem to get the answer. I hope someone can help.

Your combo box should have a Row Source that returns two columns, the ID and the name.

It should have a Column Count of 2.

It should have Column Widths set to 0;7cm

That should allow users to see names, but the returned value is the ID, which is then stored in the table.

It's the other way but the principle is the same.

Access field showing as ID number instead of Text

My problem is that one list from Sharepoint in Access is showing a number in the field instead of the user's first and last name. The particular field with the first and last name is a lookup field that looks up a concatenated field. For instance....

    Last,First is the original column

    concatenated above to First Last

List looks up to the concatenated First Last name field.

As mentioned, Access is displaying 1035 instead of my first and last name (for my name for example). I saw a workaround for this by importing the two lists at the same time, which works. Only problem is I need this data to be real-time/up-to-date and therefore my Access tables are all linked.

Any suggestions on how to keep the tables linked yet show the display value instead of the ID number?

ANYTHING would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
