    Unanswered: Oracle Roles

    1. I am using Oracle 9i on Windows XP SP2. (I use DBArtisan)
I was wondering if it is ok to view and access all system objects (system tables for example) if I'm connected with a non dba user having only "CONNECT" and "AUTHENTICATE" Roles. (no other permissions)

    2. Also what does RESOURCE role refer to exactly?

    Talking Any Dictionary ?

    1) To view system objects (at least system views) you need to be granted the SELECT ANY DICTIONARY privilege

    2) Resource role provides a combination of system, resource (like unlimited tablespace quotas) and DDL privileges.
