Would like to output column names on the first line of the file.
In DTS there was an option to output files placing the column headers in the first row.
How do I go about this in SSIS?

Instead of creating the file connection in the connection manager, create the flat file destination object first. From that dialog, you can create a new file connection, and specify that you want the column names in the first row. It's a little bass-ackwards, yeah, but it's SSIS. :-)

    SSIS Columns in first row

Hey guys I just figured it out... once create the file connection w/out clicking the column in first names it always expects data in the first row...
removed file dest and connection manager and made sure the column in first check box was check then it put the column headers in the first row...
    thanks,
