I assume MVS here is the IBM mainframe OS of old... but IMS, I have no idea what that is

I wonder if there is an ODBC driver that could be used with an IMS database...

You can ask your question in the IMS Forum. There are several people around who already conntected each type of application to IMS.

    any success yet?

Just wondering if you have had any success getting at your IMS database from MS Access.. Are you hoping to get at IMS thru DC in an online environment? If so, I may be able to help with some similar processing...

I do not really understand your question. MS access is a database. This database can be accessed by application programs. If your question is, if an application program can access MS Access and IMS DB in one unit of work then the answer is yes. The implementation is different depending if you request 2PC and which type of driver you want to use to access the IMS Database.

You even can combine EXCEL data and IMS data. We have done that several times. Could be that you need some additional software.

Again, post your request in the IMS Forum which is maintained by the IMS-Society

    Werner.
