    Unanswered: trying to exceute EXPLINE PLANE DB2query using java program

    SQLCODE: -204 means the object you are trying to use does not exist. I suspect you did not create the explain tables.

    search for EXPLAIN.DDL file in your db server (since i am not exactly sure of the filepath ).... and then finally execute the following ddl from the path where the DDL is present after you have connected to the db

    db2 -tvf EXPLAIN.DDL
    IBM Certified Database Associate, DB2 9 for LUW

    You can find EXPLAIN.DDL in sqllib/misc directory. Then as Nick mentioned,

    you can run it as "db2 -tvf explain.ddl"
